LOAD BED
360 degree rotating platform with auto-locking at every 90
degrees, Lock is released by foot-pedal from either side.
Two rows of rollers with a central walkway.Continuous guide-rails at each side with tapered lead at each end
also incorporate the vertical restraint for the containers.
Container end-stops at each end of the platform are 'roll-over'
stops, depressed by the container and automatically raising behind
the container, they are lowered by manually-operated levers at
opposite ends of the rotating platform.
The intermediate end-stop for LD2 containers is separately
(manually) operated.
RUNNING GEAR
The Four Wheels are, 15 x 4 ½ -8 x 3.00D 3-stage Super Elastic
solid rubber tyres, on 5mm x two-piece bolted wheel rims. Owen Holland's unique flange mounted, five stud, taper roller
bearing hub system (separately detachable axle-ends) is used.
STEERING
Ackerman type on front wheels, activated by the tow-bar pintle
and steering track-rods. All linkages are enclosed within the lower
chassis.
BRAKES
Brakes for parking act on the rear wheels and are operated by
raising the tow bar to an automatically latched position and
released by a foot-pedal mounted on the tow bar.
STANDARD COUPLINGS
- The Tow Bar - is fitted
with a grip-handle. The forged steel eye has a 50 mm diameter hole
and a ring section diameter of 30 mm. The tow bar cannot contact the
ground when allowed to fall.
- The Rear Hitch - is a forged steel safety hook with automatic
sprung latch.
STANDARD FINISH / FEATURE
- Hot Dipped Galvanized to ISO1461
- High-Visibility markings on surround-frame corners and both sides
of towbar.
- The Dolly is stackable (up to 4-high), via locations
in-built on the chassis-frame.
