LOAD BED

Constructed from folded high-tensile steel sections. The surround-frame has reinforced and rounded corners, designed to minimise collision damage.
The conveying surface uses three rows of 75mm diameter heavy-duty rollers with sealed bearings, running on hexagonal double-spring-loaded axles.  The rows of rollers are separated by two anti slip walkways. Heavy duty lift up stops are fitted in correct positions to retain the ULD sizes specified above.

RUNNING GEAR

Two twin-wheeled swivelling castors at the front with 50mm diameter king-pin and offset hub with heavy duty taper roller bearings.  Two twin-wheeled fixed units at the rear. Wheels are two-piece de-mountable pressed steel rims, fitted with 15" x 4.5" x 3.00D Super Elastic, three-stage solid rubber tyres.
The wheels are mounted on four double-ended axles with 5-stud taper-roller bearing hubs. All axles are centrally-pivoted 'rocking-axles' providing smoother running.

STEERING

Controlled by the two front swivelling castors.

PARKING BRAKE

Highly effective on all four rear wheels, activated by raising the tow bar to an automatically latched position, release is by a foot pedal mounted on the tow bar.

STANDARD COUPLINGS

  • The Towbar - has a towing-eye with 75mm diameter hole, the ring-section of the eye is 30mm diameter. A grip-handle is provided on top of the towbar. The eye is prevented from contacting the ground by a sprung device. Adjustment is incorporated to keep the eye at coupling-height when the towbar is at rest.
  • The Rear Hitch - is a heavy duty 'E' type with a captive spring-loaded 33mm diameter pin that can be retained in the open position.

STANDARD FINISH

  • Hot Dipped Galvanized to ISO1461
  • High-Visibility markings on surround-frame corners and both sides of towbar.
